Policies

  • The PLA staff must handle all contracts.
  • PLA or ALA members are not eligible for honoraria or reimbursement for "regular conference programs"
  • Program subcommittee presents preconference slots to the PLA Board. Local Arrangements - Subcommittee should submit list of tour ideas, tour companies, etc to Melissa and she will handle the arrangements from there.
  • Make sure there is a better restaurant guide (like in American Libraries)

Exhibits

  • Judy will continue to think of new ideas.
  • Partners support needs to improve.
  • Encourage exhibitors to get rid of the postcards and promote through links on the PLA web page.

Skeleton Schedule Review

  • OGS/CGS Session Speakers
  • Luncheon Speakers All Conference Reception
  • will require shuttling from the CC
  • Stage local author signings during the reception. Review of Conference Timeline
  • Program Subcommittee will have the ability to review the proposals ongoing.
  • Talk Tables deadline will be July 31, 2003.
  • add line to add if PLA/ALA committee sponsors the program
  • need to make sure that trustees know that they can attend all programs (even if there is not a specific track)
  • identify target audience for programs
  • Name the deadlines "general deadline" & "special deadline for ALA units and affiliates"
  • Seattle space needles (like the cactus) & magnets by MidWinter 2003
  • do not put preconference handouts on the web
